Too Funny

BJ and I have been doing small “home improvement “projects around the house. This week he is on vacation so we’ve been utilizing our time wisely, no goofing off! Not sure if you believe that. (lol)

The floor plan of our home is quite open, and in some areas, the ceiling is over 20 feet tall. We have this area above the front door, which we presumed was small until BJ went up there to check it out.

I was in the kitchen making lunch and he yelled for me to come over…. I look up, and there he is! He begins to tell me how spacious it is up there.

BJ being goofy!

He decided to stand to give me a clear visual of how much room was available for a Christmas tree during the holidays.

And, here he is making his way back down....

Pretty Lana

Yesterday I took a few pictures of Lana playing with her dad’s birthday balloons. She was just adorable in her pretty dress!

This picture was taken about 4 am prior to taking a trip to Austin. Today, I cannot share much, but one day we shall meet and collogue upon the auspicious occasion.

Another Year Younger

BJ’s never older than 29, EVER! I can honestly say that falling in love with him was easy. And, staying in love with him is even easier. Happy birthday, babe. I can’t wait until next year…. We love you! May all your dreams continue to come true with each passing day.

Jayce's High School Rocks

Before I get back to catching up on post, and I do plan to share pictures of the school, but I thought I would share this video that involved the whole school at Brennan. I think you will like it, plus you can get a glimpse of what Jayce’s school is all about. This production was completely prepared by the students only. I’ll share more details along with images soon.

Wouldn’t you love to have gone to a high school like this? It’s INCREDIBLE!

He's A Sophmore

Back to school today for Jayce, I’ve been meaning to share pictures of our tour of the school, but I have been so busy catching up on summer posts. I’m so behind, ugh! Anyway, as I went to take a few pictures of Jayce this morning, I grabbed my camera, and the battery was dead. Jayce was like, It’s ok mom, really! I then took out the Sony point and shoot. It is a great camera, but man, it has been a long time since I’ve used it. I’ve had the Nikon on hand at all times lately. Jayce was laughing at me because I was having an intricate moment with the backup camera. I am glad I have it though, it is useful at times. I just need to use it more often so I don’t forget .

Jayce is an all around astonishing young man. He’s handsome with a brilliant mind, athletic, very respectful of others, and of course, a witty sense of humor. I could keep going on and on with his accomplishments and outstanding qualities, and as his mother, I have the right to brag because I am extremely proud of the man he is becoming. He's standing strong at 5'9 for the moment, but I anticipate much more growth due to his eating habits, lol.

This is our text conversation this morning after he left….

What a great kid! Here’s to a successful school year of rockin’ it intellectually and socially!

BJ's Brewhouse

BJ’s Brewhouse is great in terms of food, atmosphere, variety of beers, and décor. However, it is not the type of place you go if you want to have conversation with dinner, it’s just too noisy. I assume they put the music up loudly because as people become inebriated, they begin to talk louder. So why not just flush out all the loud talking with deafening music. Sounds like a perfect solution?  Hmm, not so much. We’ve been quite a few times to various locations and each are the same with booming music. Don’t get me wrong, I like to crank up the volume on some tunes, but not when I’m having dinner with friends or family and conversing.

Me, well, just being me. I know this comes out of nowhere, but I have to add that I love this quote... Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts. -Albert Einstein
P.S.  I'm one of the few, just sayin'.

Totally love the bar!

BJ and his dad, Bill.

BJ’s mother, Regina & stepmother, Teresa.

I’m not quite finished catching up with posts, but I need to quickly with BJ starting GRAD school and Jayce back to school tomorrow, life will be hectic.

Creatures Of The Deep SeaWorld

The family comes home from SeaWorld telling me all about it. That particular day I did not go along with them, neither Bill nor Teresa. Nonetheless, I was anxious to see the pictures. I had given my camera to BJ so that he could snap away in my place. Prior to them leaving, I handed him the camera and specifically told him that the settings were good and all he had to do was aim and shoot.

No worries, really.

During our conversation about the day’s events, he proceeded to tell me that at one point, he couldn’t recall when, but the pictures seemed dark as he was taking them. I just shrugged it off. Well, to my dismay, after I uploaded the images they were completely black. *see picture below.

I mentioned to BJ that they were black and asked him if he messed with the settings.

He did.

He did not know how to fix it so he just kept taking pictures. The camera is fine by the way, just another BJ technical error. I cannot help but to laugh because more often he has the worst of luck with my cameras. I told him I would try to edit the images and make it work as best as I could. The pictures below are the end results. They did not turn out so bad. In all honesty, I actually really like a few of them. They kinda have the vintage feature happening….

 See for yourself!

Football And Barbecue

I would like to think that the summer of 2011 is going to disappear into a happy blur of family, delicious meals, and walks around San Antonio. Not only did we have a parade of guest this summer, but the kids and I traveled to Tulsa as well. Shortly after my mother’s visit, Bill, Teresa, Regina, Troy, and Tatum arrived. Time was spent relaxing around the house, enjoying the River Walk, and visiting SeaWorld. Before I share pictures from an outing to a locally owned barbecue restaurant, I thought I would sneak in a couple from outside while playing football.

The hand off to Tatum, she played like a PRO!

Lana and Grandma Teresa (AKA Gigi)

BJ and his buddies from work often go to this BBQ place for lunch. I thought it was pretty good, the atmosphere was cool.

Here we are getting ready to order. Brisket was not available, so I was little bummed about that.

The décor was cool. The restaurant use to be an old gas station.

The pit!

Jayce being a troop and posed for me.

I liked how this picture turned out as a silhouette type.

Tatum and Lana had a blast together.

I took this picture just as we left the restaurant. I like it.
