Travel Tuesday-Dallas, Texas

During our road trip to Dallas, Texas, we not only picked up the eclipse from US customs but we also spent some time in downtown touring the museums. We’ve spent much time in Dallas throughout the years, but this is the first time we visited the museums. We enjoyed it, especially the hotel accommodations. We stayed at the luxurious Hotel Adolphus in a junior suite. It really was a grand hotel and we appreciated the royal treatment we received. I’ve included a few pictures of the room. I’ll be sure to share more pictures in future post.

Just as you entered the room off the foyer, there was a small dining area, wet bar (not shown), and sitting area.

The small sofa had a pull out bed as well.

The beds were very comfortable and cozy, in particular after a long day of site seeing.

I wish I would have taken an extra lens or two to get a better picture of the smaller rooms, but here it is anyway. I thought it was a unique looking vanity/sink.

This is one of the city views from the room.

Monday Memories

Loads of Fun!

Like most babies, Lana would also love to be in the middle of whatever was “happening.” Quite often, when I was folding a load of laundry she would jump right in, play with the clothes, and imitate me folding the laundry. Below are a few pictures that I took of her while having some fun with the clothes!

Two For One Special

I wanted to combine two posts in one, today’s special. The first, as promised in a previous post regarding Love And Hope Thursday, are a few more pictures of the ceramic pieces Jayce created when he was younger.

This piece is super cool. Jayce is always so creative. I actually use the dip in the top (you can’t see it at this angle) to place small items such as safety pins, etc.

The picture above was actually shot at a bad angle, but I like it anyway.

The little angel... Did you notice how Jayce placed a cross over the heart? What a sweet boy.

The second, I am a tad bit eager for fall to arrive, so I have already started decorating our home accordingly.

In the kitchen, I added new placemats, a few candy dishes, and some small decorations on the window ledge.

They are so cute and add a nice touch to the room, without over doing it.

I added a few close-up pictures and enlarged them so you could see the details in the images. This little scarecrow is delightful!

Wouldn’t you agree, it is simple, yet pleasing decorations to have on the window ledge?

I really like the new placemats; I found them on sale at Kohl’s for only three dollars each or something like that, a great bargain.

I feel the candleholders add a nice elegant touch to the table. They have a nice ambient glow when a candle is burning.

These placemats were also found at Kohl’s on sale and very inexpensive. I love em'.

I think the table looks very pretty and ready for the autumn season.

At the moment, the bat dish is being used to hold Lana’s hair barrettes.

I wish I would have taken a closer snapshot of the Lenox scarecrow candy dish, it has many charming details. I will add a close-up to the next set of home décor pictures that I plan to post next week.

Oh, one last thing before I close this post… Look at what I am looking forward to…. OHHHHHH….Nightmare On Grayson Street!

Travel Tuesday- One or Two Scoops?

There were many great aspects of living in Sicily, especially the gelato. Since summer is ending and autumn is quickly approaching, I figured I would have one last summer post before the seasons change.

When traveling in Italy, or elsewhere in Europe for that matter, there is a vast amount of gelato to be found. Amongst the plethora of good gelato eateries, which are located nearly on every street or piazza, is the fact that our neighborhood had its very own gelato delivery guy! We were pretty lucky, right?

Gelato differs from regular ice cream in the way it is made, although it does have similar ingredients, it still tastes different from American ice cream. Gelato is very light and creamy, so luscious.

This gelato truck is so cool (ha ha ha). It did not matter what time of day he came by, everyone would rush outdoors to get a scoop or two.

Apparently, nobody would fix his or her hair before going outside to get some gelato. In this case, nothing is better than a great scoop of gelato on a lazy, hot summer morning.

More Random Stuff

Okay. This will be my last random post for a while, but nothing really has been happening. Well, I take that back, many things have been happening, we have been extremely busy, I just have not been tagging along my camera that often. I did change purses so I placed my pocket size Sony camera in my current handbag, maybe I can get something great on here soon.

Lana having a snack with her baby!

Hanging out in a race car… VROOM!

Some time ago, my husband learned to "build" (for lack of a better word) his own gaming computers. He has built many for his friends and coworkers as well as taught other people how to build them. Recently, he ordered all the parts for new gaming computers for himself and Jayce. Of course, he is always teaching Jayce everything he needs to know to fix/build his own someday.

Randomness

I thought I would share a few random pictures of things that we have been doing around the house, nothing very exciting though. Of course, the simple things in life are the best!

Jayce likes to eat pomegranate, here he is deseeding the fruit. Doesn’t he look cute wearing one of my aprons?!
LOL.

Yes, it tasted so yummy!

In this picture, BJ is cooking a turkey, egg, and cheese sandwich. It is a very simple sandwich, but taste delicious. I love it when he cooks for us.

What a perfect sandwich……

This is a picture of one of my pots before I polished/seasoned it.

This picture was taken afterwards, don’t they look nice? Periodically, I polish/season them with olive oil. It works great as you can see. By the way, I’m counting down the days until I receive my new cookware.

Shortly after we arrived back in the states, Smokey was groomed with hair shaved off and her skin conditioned.

Now, her hair has grown back a little.

A few days ago, we prepared little ice cream treats, just for fun!
