No FEAR!

Here in our housing development they have these awful bushes throughout! And, as you know we have been trying to find ways to occupy our time without our furniture and minimal personal belongings. Today, we were outside and Jayce and his dad decided to start racing and then it lead to hurdling the bushes, which down our street they range in different widths and heights.

These sets of hedges were mid size and quite easy for them to jump over…. Check em’ out!

However, in the video below the shrubs are a bit higher and more in depth than in the pictures above. Jayce was hesitant to try to hurdle them…

Jayce created this video, it is pretty cool, huh?!…

Fashion Friday

500 Days of Summer

I have a thing that I do. I relate people I know with celebrities. Sometimes, I think of a person’s celeb twin right away, and other times, it takes awhile. Well, not too long ago, we rented the movie 500 days of summer. I am sure you have seen it, if not check it out. It is a cute movie and I adore the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He is Jayce’s celebrity twin! Jayce especially mirrors him in this particular movie because of his -prep-hipster vests, which Jayce totally loves to wear.

When we left the states Jayce was a young boy, and now you can see a glimpse of the young man he is becoming and his style of fashion! From Affliction (his rock rebel side) to preppy—The boy has swagger!

Travel Tuesday-Munich, Germany

I quickly wanted to post a couple pictures of a few sites from when we went to Munich, Germany. We had a great vacation in Germany. I’m excited that Jayce will be going again for NHD.

Be sure to check back next week as I hope to post some more pictures of the castles we had the pleasure to tour in Germany.

Food For Thought

Last night I cooked one of BJ’s favorite meals, Sausage Rice Creole. It is a simple southern dish and goes well with any vegetable and cheese biscuits are always a success! I have included the recipe for you to try it out.

Dice a bell pepper and onion, set aside. Cut and slice sausage (I prefer to use a turkey sausage or all beef, it is healthier!) but you can use any favorite sausage, just lightly season it with fresh cracked black pepper. Next, heat the seasoned sausage in a pan for a few minutes until lightly brown then add diced bell pepper and onion. Cook until onion and bell pepper are tender.

Add two-three small cans of tomato sauce and 4-6 ounces of water depending on how much tomato sauce is used. Finally, let simmer for about 20 minutes! Didn’t I say simple?!

When ready serve over rice with vegetables and cheese biscuits or any other favorite hearty bread! By the way, it tastes spectacular reheated the next day!

This morning I baked blueberry muffins. I thought this picture I took afterwards would get the point across that the aroma undeniably filled the air!

Random Boring Rambling

I have been grumpy. I know, I know, so unlike my character. I guess with so many changes happening at once a mini meltdown briefly happened. Actually, we have all been a little on edge. I really should not grumble, but be thankful that we have some furniture to tide us over until we leave. Darn it, the bed is stiff has a board and no one is getting a good night’s rest! Again, it is better than sleeping on the ceramic tile floors, I remind myself daily.

The weather is getting much warmer so we have been spending countless amounts of hours outside; also, it beats the icky feeling of the temporary furniture inside the house. I mean, I do not mind making a sacrifice or having less, but when things do not feel clean after you have scrubbed and scrubbed, used heavy amounts of Lysol multiple times daily and it still makes your skin crawl, it is not a good feeling. I know I can be a little... no, no, a LOT OCD when it comes to cleanliness. I am just counting the days until we get on our flight to the states....

After my exams, we do have some mini-trips planned so that will be refreshing and fun exploring the last few places (well for now at least. We do plan to return to Europe to travel more) here on the island and abroad.

Pack-Out Day....

Yes, that is right… the first major pack-out is complete. Ten crates (approximately 1000 lbs per crate) of our personal belongings are now on their way back to the states! The day of, everything went smoothly, no complaints! Now we are a step closer to returning to the states. How exciting to be experiencing something new, yet sad to be leaving Italy behind.
