New Roof, Spring 2022

The most recent home improvement project was the replacement of the roof.  We kept the shingles the same color. It's a slate gray, I believe.  We had the option to upgrade them, but it was a multi-color and I just didn't like the way it looked with the brick and stone on some homes.  Maybe it would of been okay on our home, and from an aerial view it look great, but not for us.  Aside from the guys trapping my vehicle in the garage, the overall process was not too bad.  It only took a couple of days from start to finish.  They arrived prior to sunrise and began to prep the area.  I took some images from the security cameras.

As the day moved forward: More and more debris around the house of course.

The picture below is our home prior to the new roof. I circled some of the vents for you to see. The greatest aspect of the new roof is the ventilation system and we do not have those vents anymore, which is a plus because of the racoons. The racoons always tried to get in the home from the vents.  We had even installed additional materials to prevent the racoons from getting in the attic. I'm relieved to know the vents are gone and a new ventilation system is in place.

Before sunset on the first day I went out and took a few pictures of the progress.
You can see in the picture below the vents are gone.

It was a really long day for them.  The crew did not leave until 10:30 pm the first day.

The next morning: It's looking nice.

Final product:

Nicely done! Next up: finally getting the windows cleaned.  We've been waiting for these repairs to be completed. I also need to repaint the fence and clean up the landscaping.
