Church

After our meeting yesterday, we went for a drive in the country near our new house. It’s nice being close to shopping areas and things, but also being secluded away from the hustle and bustle is a plus. Our new home has the best of both worlds. I took this picture with my iPhone. It was extremely bright outside, but I think it turned out pretty. We will be attending this Catholic Church once we move. It is beautiful. I’ll be sure to post more pictures that I plan to take with my other camera.

Community Pool

The neighborhood we bought our home is exceptional, it encompasses all that we wanted in our living environment. Although the search was long and the kids were getting tired of driving all around and looking at neighborhoods every free moment to spare, I am thrilled that we held out and found this one. I previously stated that it is a small community. Currently, there are only a handful of homes, after completion, there will be approximately two hundred homes, and then possibly two more phases will open, growing to a maximum of five hundred homes. Now this is relatively small compared to some other master- planned developments that consist anywhere from 6,000 to 15,000 homes in a neighborhood, we did not want to live in a community of those numbers. It is secure with a private gated entrance, and has a very nice lap and kid pool, a pool house, and park, which is all under construction now. The completion date is set for the end of May, but it will probably extend out a couple of months or so.

I thought it would be nice to post these pictures and then compare it to the others after it is completed. It is amazing to see such a beautiful neighborhood grow into something so prestigious!

Update

Well, our meeting on Thursday with the superintendent went great. I learned many new things about our home. He corrected me on the fact that our home does not have vinyl siding. It is actually 100% masonry; the small portion that has the non-brick siding is actually fiber-cemented, which is more “green” and durable, among other things, than regular vinyl siding. He discussed many aspects of the house and the inspector was there as well. We have one final walk through before we close. I am extremely eager to get moved in.

During our meeting, the landscape people came by and updated the flowerbed. It looks so pretty!

Door And Other Pictures

Late this afternoon the kids and I went by the house. BJ and I are going to meet the builder on Thursday, but I was excited to see the door so I decided to go and check it out early. We drove up and they were working on the house so we went inside. I was hoping to see the blinds installed, but they are going in tomorrow. That is okay because I loved seeing the door! It is so pretty and tall. It is an 8-foot solid wood door. I feel It adds such charm to the house.
I wanted to take some pictures at different angles so I could explain things in more details. For instance, there is nice spacing between the homes and our lot backs up to a green belt so we will never have any neighbors behind us. We like not having a huge yard to maintain. Technically, this lot is not small, but it does not compare to an acre either. We feel it’s perfect for us. Plus, the backyard is big enough for our pool that we want in about a year or so.

Do you see the garage hardware? It looks nice. I like the sold sign in the front too! he he he. Our house is built with “green” standards. The construct aspects are wonderful and it is about 80-90% brick with stone. There is some siding, but not a large amount.

We have two trees on our property. We do plan to plant more in time. We may not plant many in the back area due to waiting until after the pool goes in.

Jayce was checking out the garage door openers. They are SUPER QUIET when in use!

Here is a picture of the hardware up close! Love it!
I just like this picture. It is a very lovely home and I am very anxious to move in.
And here is a close-up of the front door…. Oh, I was so excited to see the grass getting greener too. Last time we were at the house we turned on the irrigation system. However, another great thing about this builder in particular is that for the first six months you live in your home they maintain the lawn!  That is what i'm talking about!

Lana's Birthday Package

Lana received a birthday package from her Uncle Troy, Aunt Erin, and her cousin, Tatum. She was beside herself with silliness. I thought I would share the pictures, as they are just too cute.

For me?
Extremely silly!
Very Happy!
Gettin' started...
Almost got it!
Look at that face… She is up to something!

Oh Lana, you are so fun and silly!

Pictures of New House Empty

Our new home is very welcoming. I’m excited because the builder called BJ yesterday to let him know that the blinds are being installed and the new door has been installed. We will meet him next week for a walk thru before closing. I only posted a few pictures of the inside. I do plan to post more after we get moved in and settled. It is a lovely home and the neighborhood is incredible. It is a small-gated community, which is something that is extremely important to us. We do not want to live in a large neighborhood or have a large front yard.

The picture above is the family room downstairs. We love the lime stone fireplace; I feel it adds a very elegant appeal.
The wrought iron banisters are my favorite!
As I mentioned before the door has been changed. We picked a speakeasy door, which adds even more of an old world charm appeal to the home.
The dark cabinets are great, we do plan to make some changes in the near future, but I will explain more about that in upcoming post. In this picture the granite projects more of a gray tone, which when you actually look at the granite, it has more of a taupe look. The granite is absolutely beautiful.
This picture is of the landing upstairs and is considered a game room or family room.
This is the eat-in kitchen area with a small desk built in.
This is Jayce’s favorite aspect of the house. The media room! It is equipped with surround sound, projector, and theater lighting. This room rocks!
The master bathroom is extremely large as well as the closet. Actually, the master bedroom is HUGE even bigger than the rental we are in now.

Well, I must stop all the post for today. I think I have done more than enough over the past few days….

Pool Party

Last week my DT ended, and my friend hosted a small get together pool party at her house to celebrate. She was the most gracious host as she had supplied all the drinks, food, and of course the pool! We had a great time. I did not take many pictures, but I did manage to get a few of the kids enjoying their time in the pool.

Ok. Ok. Ok. I know, Jayce is such a great looking young man!

Not to mention, super because he was a true sport with figuring out the remote to heat the pool, AND he goofed around with the younger ones.

The twin girls!
