Clay Casa

We spent the afternoon at Clay Casa with Lana. I have always treasured all the ceramics that Jayce made when he was younger, so it is a joy to do it with Lana as well.

We had such a fun time painting with her; I know she enjoyed herself very much.

What a precious smile!

In between taking pictures of them, I did have the opportunity to paint with Lana.

Jayce was not able to join us because he went to Houston with the drum line competition. We decided to make him a funky box.

Lana painted ornaments for her grandparents. We thought it would be a nice gift for everyone.

We made a handprint of Lana on a plate…

One week later….

Jayce’s funky box!

Lana’s ornaments.

We added her thumbprint to the back of the ornaments.

Her plate turned out so cute!

Trimming Of Trees

I frequently clean the windows both inside and out, with one exception, I do not clean the outside of the upstairs windows. I mentioned to BJ that I would like a professional to clean our windows since the windows upstairs are in need of a cleaning due to the tree sap and debris. It made more sense to trim the trees first. After searching and calling for estimates, I found a local company on Angie’s List with great reviews and fair price. Last week before the storm they trimmed the trees away from the roofline, removed dead branches, shaped, and sealed the trees to keep them from being infested with bugs. I cannot express enough how pleased I was with the service provided. They completely cleaned our yard and my neighbors since the one tree does hang over their yard too.

What a great group of guys!

Real Moments

The other day, Lana and I went out to play. Most of the time, she is full of the "sillies" so there is never a dull moment. Before going out, she danced around the house….

She gave me a wink or two!

Then we went to the playground area….

She danced and laughed in the pool house....

We went for a stroll on the jogging trails….

She ran and ran, super fast....

Go Lana!

Next, we played hide and seek…..

I found you!

Home sweet home….

The Art Of Gaming

This probably may not be as exciting for you, but I am sure if you have any appreciation for art, the online gaming world, or simply because you are a parent, you will feel my joy. Jayce says, “Just maybe, you might want him to design something for you, he is the GO TO GUY!”

It is no secret that both my husband and son are online/console gamers. They have been for many, many years. There are varieties of professional websites that stream live game-time videos, etc. on the internet.  Recently, a professional gamer, asked the online community to submit artwork and update his website. Jayce accepted the challenge and submitted some samples to him. By and large, he selected Jayce’s artwork! Jayce designed his banner and background image; today it is viewable to the public. Currently, the page has over 95,000 views. On average, there are 1000 people on the page at any given moment. Statistically for online web viewing, that is a great number. Furthermore, for Jayce (being an amateur artist), his talent is being recognized in a BIG WAY!

(Image above: background image, image below: banner) Jayce is still tweaking and doing some more images so check back soon. If you want to see the page in action, check out the website: Thingtwo.

I’m super proud of Jayce and his efforts. He is a great kid with so many possibilities ahead of him!
