Besides the fact that I absolutely love this picture, we went to lunch after the baptism to Cracker Barrel in case you did not recognize it from the rocking chairs. It was a beautiful day. We love you, Trevor.

Steakhouse Entertainment

Fourth of July weekend we traveled to Amarillo. That weekend was also Trevor’s Baptism. Upon our first night in town, we went to a Japanese steakhouse, the food delectable, and the atmosphere entertaining. We had a great time, especially Lana. I never laughed so much at her antics.

Homemade Blueberry Buttermilk Cake

During our trip to Amarillo, which I will share pictures soon, Erin made a buttermilk pie, and Jayce loved it. I have wanted to try this buttermilk cake recipe and intended to make it when family was here, alas, it did not go as planned. On a positive note, I baked it today. It was so light and fluffy and extremely easy to make. It is definitely something I will make again soon.

Luckily, I was keeping an eye on it. It baked rather quickly, much faster than the recipe stated.

All I can say is, heavenly.

Just Makin' Memories

Our neighborhood pool opened this past weekend. They have not officially hosted the grand opening because they are still working on the common area, road, and landscaping. However, they did open the pool for residents to go ahead and enjoy. It’s super nice! Earlier today Jayce, Lana, and I went for a swim…. Still just normal days for us, but memories were still being made and captured on my iPhone.

Inspiration Is Bliss

I don’t know about you, but yesterday I did not accomplish much. I guess I ran out of steam due to traveling during the long weekend and Jayce having a friend over as soon as we arrived home. I spent a good amount of time sorting and washing clothes. Laundry aside, I dedicated some time to making cheddar biscuits. My family loves Red Lobster. I appreciate seafood, but I do not care for it all the time. Sometimes I just want to go to Red Lobster just to eat the cheddar biscuits. Because of this, it has inspired me to take a stab at my own version.

I made the dough, combined the cheese, and then kneaded the dough. Just look at those perfect spoonfuls of goodness!

Just before baking them in the oven…. I know I’m a tease!

A picture of them just before baking is complete.. They are almost ready to sink your teeth into.

Just a few minutes before they were finished baking, I took them out, brushed them with melted butter combined with herbs, spices, and placed them back in the oven to bake a few minutes more.
