Random Happenings Because...

I often have some sort of camera on me, but I especially love my new Nikon. I am one lucky girl to have such an incredible husband and kids. I would not trade them for anything. I love capturing all our moments in time because I never want to let go of the joy that we share. Not to mention….

Because I like to take goofy pictures of myself. And, although I liked a different picture better, BJ liked this one…

Because we were hanging out at the airport and I loved the expression and sun shining on his face….

Because she grabbed my Dolce and Gabbana shades and Prada handbag, then said, “Mommy, take my picture!”……

Because it was the first day of ballet, and I really wanted to get a picture, but it was too early in the morning for her, and she did not want to smile or put on her ballet shoes…..

Because even though she was tired and grumpy, she did finally smile for Mommy……….

Because we normally have huge cooked meals prepared by me, but since I have been so busy with my internship, my family has not had my cooking lately. I finally made a massive brunch for us and Lana wanted to help….

Because BJ is such a wonderful dad, and he looked so sweet helping her….

Because Jayce wanted to make a Caramel Macchiato to go with his brunch….

Because even though we had a feast for brunch, Jayce came downstairs less than an hour later saying, “I’m hungry, can you make chocolate chip muffins?” We made the muffins together and they were tasty....

Because it was extremely late and past her bedtime, she stayed up and we watched movies…..

Because we wanted some munchies to go along with movie night………

Because I totally love the random boring stuff of everyday moments with my family, I will do a post like this again soon…..

Parts Of A Cell

A recent assignment in Jayce’s Pre-AP Biology course was to come up with a creative way to display parts of a cell. He and his partner chose to bake a cake and use candy to label the parts, which looked great. The day of the presentation, they filled the middle (nucleus) with whip cream, and after they presented it to the class, everyone was able to enjoy the cake! Job well done, Jayce!

I totally love my new Nikon camera and lens that I received for Christmas. Jayce took this picture with the old Nikon, which turned out cool, I think. I love our memories being captured, which has inspired this blog, and the random photos of the next post........ (to be continued)...

Snow Day In San Antonio

Yup, that’s right.  It did manage to snow here, only about an inch though, and yes, school was closed!  Everywhere we live, we experience the unexpected in weather.  I think the last time it snowed here was over 10 years ago.  Either way, the kids enjoyed it until it melted. 

Last Post On JW Marriott Resort

Today was a happy snow day, and of course no school. I thought I would use the opportunity to catch up on some much needed blog time. This should be the last post on the resort, unless I post some random pictures later on. Even so, we did have a nice time and I am looking forward to planning another trip of some sort soon. With a bit of luck, we can make it to Tulsa, I am wanting to eat at Coney Islander so badly!

The resort had a couple of restaurants to choose from, and for dinner, we ate at the sports bar. It had these amazing huge big screens of TV everywhere.

We managed to get a secluded booth away from the crowd and the food was really good, no complaints from any of us.

We played games on these interactive screens, similar to a large iPad.  We also played chess and walked around the resort until it was time for the New Year’s festivities.

GOLF COURSE

The golf course was spectacular with much beauty. It was very tranquil to say the least. I posted a few pictures below.
