We have had a special delivery to our home….

Getting closer....

You might remember from last summer, BJ kept talking about how great it would be for us to have a golf cart to use when we go to the neighborhood pool and park. Well, he made good on his promise.

We took the cart for a spin around the neighborhood…

A new builder came along, our neighborhood keeps growing everyday….

We made our way to the pool area. This is a picture of the windows inside the pool house bathroom.

The developer added some sod to an area of the jogging trails.

Lana enjoyed playing on the monkey bars!

I can already predict that we will have lots of fun this summer hanging out at the pool. The golf cart has a great storage area on the back for our towels, totes, etc. We can also add a back seat as well.

Go Ahead, Put Your Back Into It

Just a short couple of weeks ago, we helped a co-worker of BJ move his goods to a new home. It was chilly outside, but we had a good time.

Afterwards, to express his gratitude he bought us lunch at Earl Abels… Good food. Good times!

Visual Art Scholastic Event 2012

Recently Jayce submitted a drawing of his to the Texas Visual Arts Scholastic Event per recommendation from one of his teachers. Jayce has not had any formal art classes, so he entered into the amateur division. As you know, last weekend we went to the event, and he made it thru the first round of qualifications. The judging continued this past week. They announced at school that Jayce earned first place in his division!! He received 58/60 points. They did not allow pictures to be taken at the event, but we did manage to get a few.

There was a huge turnout and much competition, no kidding. There was about 700 or more students in the competition.

As I said, they would not allow pictures, so we did not get many. Nonetheless, it was fun and intense for Jayce I’m sure. At one point, he had to go up and talk to the judges about his drawing, etc. The waiting to see if he qualified was extreme.

We are SUPER proud of Jayce!! Keep it up, kiddo!

More Random Stuff

Let’s start with the good news first… One of Jayce’s teachers asked him to submit one of his sketches to an art show this weekend. He picked the drawing below. I will have to post some of his other drawings here on the blog soon.

Next up, BJ installed a new doorbell for me. The simple things in life bring a smile my way, I tell ya.

I am extremely proud of myself of how well the dining room turned out. I have been admiring my hard efforts, so I thought I would go ahead a post a picture for you. We will probably put the curtains back up this week.

Lastly, just a pretty picture of my fireplace in action! LOVE it!
