Happy Birthday, Jayce!

Wow! I can’t believe Jayce is now 18 years old. What an incredible person he has grown to be, we are extremely proud of the man he has become. I just have to smile and laugh at some of the crazy moments we have had together through the years. They would not have been half the fun with anyone else but Jayce.

Do you remember the times when we went body surfing in Florida? How about when we went on the Disney Cruise? Or the world’s fastest speed boat in North Carolina? How about the One Tree Hill and Friday Night Lights Marathon Weekends? Not to mention, our Italy Adventures and long nights playing Spyro with his Grandma.

I love to look back at these times and remember all the special moments we’ve shared with Jayce…. Even the most difficult times, we’ve always helped each other through. Jayce you are my lucky charm and I would not trade any one of these memories for anything in the world. This is our life with you, Jayce. We love you more than words can ever express.

In the first few pictures below, Jayce is opening cards from family members.

My Lovely Home

During spring break while Jayce was in NY, I met with an interior designer from one of my favorite places, Pottery Barn. She had some good ideas, but my focus is the entryway, game room upstairs, media room, and LIGHTING. I dislike the lighting in all areas, except for the areas with ceiling fans. I love our ceiling fans, Old Jacksonville, extremely quiet even on high-speed settings. I look at lighting stores for ideas quite often,  and I am very meticulous and want specific things. No such luck on finding what I want.

I was extremely busy the last semester of school so I will have my meeting with the designer next week. I’m stoked to see what plan she has developed for us. My style is more rustic and traditional mixed with modern casual. Exactly, everything Pottery Barn has to offer!

Looking so forward to updating my crib…..Not to mention, finishing the crown moulding and masonry work….

The flagpole makes a nice addition to the house.

I took down the curtains. I really don't like covering the moulding.  the light fixture needs to GO for sure. I will cover the chairs or at least the back two.  I plan to add some lantern lighting. (:
Lastly, wood flooring for the formal dining.

The wall where the column meets will get some sort of accent piece or leaning mirror. The chandelier will be changed in the entryway also.

I love our candle lighting at the stairs.

That wall above, already mentioned.

I love our stairs.  Goal:  to add a large wood step at the bottom and add a runner (rug) to stairs and small hallway.  The upstairs landing will also get accent piece and moulding around the window.
