Just Another Day

Things have been pretty quiet around our home…..

Just the usual everyday things have been going on here. I thought I would share some random pictures.

In the above picture, we were just hanging out and talking with Jayce. BJ was uploading Norton’s on Jayce’s laptop. Below, just a goofy surprise day!

Below, I wanted to share a small preview of the dining room moulding in progress. Now, we are actually finished with this project aside from small touch-ups and hanging the curtains back up.

My sweetness….

Below, Jayce had wrapped Lana up like a burrito. It was so funny, and she had a blast unrolling herself!

During the holidays, we moved the chaise into our bedroom. It is so large that BJ had to remove the feet and this was a picture of him putting it back together. I like the chaise in our room so much that it will remain in there. LOVING IT!

A winter favorite of Jayce and mine, homemade hot chocolate made with warm milk, delicious!

Homemade carrot cake with ever so scrumptious cream cheese frosting.

What a silly kitty!

Then And Now

Recently BJ and I celebrated 19 years of togetherness.

Back then...

And now....

Have we changed much since nearly 20 years ago?

Jayce's Lair

Jayce like most teenagers spends a vast amount of time in his room. He likes his room a great deal. He has large furniture and a big L-shaped desk, filled with his most treasured knickknacks so his space is limited, but he prefers it that way. If he had a full-size bed, it would not be an issue at all. On the other hand, with dual monitors and a super fast gaming machine his life is pure joy. Recently, he took his PS3 from the media room and hooked it up in his room as well. He does not need a TV because he can streamline movies from his PC with the AT&T U-Verse. So, he pretty much only comes out of his room for food…(LoL). For the most part, he keeps everything neat and organized without complaint. The artwork in his room (from Prague and Germany) compliments his choice of dark, foggy, rainy days. I bought him organic bed linens in gray and black, which would not be complete without the fleece OU throw blanket. My most favorite aspect of his room is the classic look and solid quality of the dark cherry wood sleigh bed. He also has a Old Jacksonville ceiling fan, which you cannot see in the picture.  I wish I was able to get a few more pictures at a better angle, but it will have to wait for me to get a wider-angle lens....

Good-Bye 2011, Hello 2012

There is no better way to describe 2011 for me except it was the best chaotic year on good terms. I completed my DT with Northeast Independent School District and received my teaching license (K-8). We moved (still on north side) but way out in the middle of no-where. I’ll never understand how we filled that beast of a truck with our stuff, and after a few trips from house A to house B, hours unpacking and organizing, we got settled. (It feels nice, too).

Let’s see, what else?

I took a bunch, I mean… a tremendous amount of photos. I spent time with family, met new friends and wonderful neighbors. My kiddo’s, Jayce and Lana, both started a new school. Jayce excelled academically way beyond my expectations and his focus became the “drumline.” Lana quite the genius herself blossomed every day in so many positive ways.

Then, there was the extremely close five-alarm fire!

I cannot forget that BJ made such an impact as an instructor that he was offered a position to travel and lecture to large groups regarding CE’s with Radiology and Nuclear Medicine pedagogies. He also decided to start Grad school.

Creeping into 2012, I fell like there is a clean stretch of road in front of me. Humble beginnings, I can say proudly. I’m looking forward to teaching. I have projects I am excited to spend more time with, places I can barely wait to visit, friends and family I hope to cross paths with again. More to the point, sticking with my hobby of taking pictures and documenting all of our most precious moments together.
