Nightly Stroll

I love daylight saving time when we fall back and it gets darker earlier. It is so beautiful when we drive or walk around the neighborhood and the lights are luminous around the pool and common areas. The developer is also currently landscaping another small common area for us, it will be completed soon.

This is half of the gated entrance. The other section (not shown) has a visual impact as well; it is a very tall and beautifully lit sign that displays the neighborhood name. The images below are of the pool and park area that is even more stunning at night.

Our Neighborhood Peaceful Park & Pool

Our neighborhood is magnificent. It is so quiet and serene all over with such old world charm elegance on the curb appeal side. We have been here for about 6 months and we love it even more. There are about 40 homes up in the neighborhood and its wonderful watching it grow into something so charming. In the spring, I posted pictures of the pool area as it was in the beginning stages. Well, mid-summer it was completed and we had our grand opening in August, which reminds me, I need to share those pictures as well. Anyway, as of October 31st, the pool has closed until next spring. The weather is beautiful and we’ve been taking full advantage of the quaint park.

So come along with us, and check out the beauty that surrounds us, with our new completed pool and park…..

Life As Usual

In between running errands and preparing dinner a few days ago, I managed to get these snapshots of Lana. She is precious in my opinion. And, there is sort of a funny story behind a couple of them (the up close images), they really show off her dimple, which comes from BJ 100%. They share a dimple on the same side of their smiles. BJ was thrilled to say the least. He had taken a picture of her previously with his phone and sent it with a text that read something like, “She has a dimple like me.” Then, I overheard him on the phone saying something like, “Well, it’s hard to see in the picture, but she does have a dimple like me.” Lana is such the opposite from him with blondish/brown hair and blue eyes, so the dimple resemblance was a very proud moment for him!

Color Sketch Photo Tour (Lana's Room)

I am in winter cleaning mode. Last week I washed all the windows and have been reorganizing things. You might remember from this post from last year, Bored =Winter Cleaning, that I really liked the color sketch images so I thought I would provide a home tour here in our new house with that same concept, beginning with Lana’s room. Her room is very bright and cheerful and matches her personality very much.

Trick-or-Treat, 2011

This year we started the afternoon of Halloween with a family photo….

Then we took Lana trick-or-treating after dinner. Her chicken costume turned out very cute. I made it completely by myself. Last year, BJ and Jayce helped with the sewing on the skunk costume.

It was pretty easy to make, and she enjoyed herself very much. I thought she would have a difficult time walking with those feet, but they did not bother her at all.

I love this picture of the two of them. Super cute!

While we went trick-or-treating, Jayce stayed nearby the house to pass out candy.

Jayce just chillin’

Here is a picture of some of the kids in the neighborhood, what a great night for trick-or-treating.

Lana could not wait to check out and eat her candy.

Please, please, please, MOM! How can I say no to such sweetness?

Yum!

Lana is really enjoying the halloween candy.

Okay, no more pictures... Silly girl!

Continues to be silly by making her best chicken noises!

And, of course, eating more candy!

More trick-or-treaters... Everyone had such great costumes.

What a great picture of us, huh?

Lana says, "Thanks Mommy!"  I'm so lucky to get such sweet pecks from my Chickie-Poo!

Earlier in the evening, I made caramel apples and we enjoyed them before going to bed.

Happy Halloweeen!
