Let's Talk Posh....

….and revisit 2006, we lived in Virginia. One of our all time favorite restaurants located in downtown Norfolk, Monastery, was superb. The atmosphere was very elegant and the food delicious.  These images were taken on my cell phone (Palm One) at that time, not the greatest quality of pictures back then for cell phones. On the other hand, you can check out the link to the restaurant. If you are ever in that area, you must have dinner there.

Now jumping forward a bit, while living in Italy, BJ went back to the states (Norfolk) for command training at the Naval Hospital a few different times, and each time he went back, he made sure to go and have dinner at Monastery. The crazy aspect, his first visit back late 2007 early 2008, they remembered him (we had been gone nearly a year), so as you have guessed, we ate there often.

The staff would giggle often at Jayce, because at 11 years old he was ordering filet mignon and savoring each bite. He loved it! It was my favorite too. BJ liked the chicken cardinal meal (pictured above). Just thinking about this is making me hungry.

We are so cute!

It was a very charming and intimate place.

Pure poshness.

This was Jayce’s Harry Potter phase; people would often comment that he looked like Harry Potter. (lol)

I had bangs back then… I like.

We are an adorable couple.

We lived in an apartment in the downtown area & Ghent, alongside the Elizabeth River. It was wonderful because we were in walking distance to fabulous shopping, and many other great clubs and restaurants like Monastery’s. Often we would just walk around and take in the sites near our apartment.  As usual, BJ is a goof and Jayce doin' his thing.. Check out the pictures below of some of the sites around us at that time.

Great memories!

Things To Coo Over

Summer is officially here, and for us we plan to travel to see loved ones, and have loved ones travel to see us. However, we have not observed all of the local places of interest, and since July is booked for us, we have decided to explore as many places as possible, with a start to the zoo just a couple of days ago.

This sea turtle was awesome….

Quack!

I think he knows that all the girls “crush” on him!

Yes, Mommy likes frogs, too!

Lana is reading the map and deciding where we should go next.

A sexy man!

This spot in the zoo was by far the most peaceful place.

I have to admit that I am very impressed with myself, and how well this picture turned out.

This is a serene picture, do you agree?
Wow, look?!

This is an unbelievable image…I love it. And why yes, I took it!

(Hey Jayce, a butterfly just landed on your shoulder!) OMG, this butterfly would not leave Jayce. A few times a zookeeper would come by and get it to fly away.

Yup, there is a butterfly.  How cool is that?

Lana was not sure what to think about the butterfly exhibit.

Amazing details.

Eeeek, It’s back again!

Hmmm, I guess the butterfly can hang with Jayce for a little while longer.

Such pretty butterflies!

Totally huggable if it would not eat me!

Every zoo trip needs a train ride, Choo-Choo!

Surprisingly, the train ride does not go through the zoo, instead borders the outside and we were able to see a few things that maybe we would not have otherwise noticed.

It was a perfectly relaxing day sauntering through the zoo.

We debated over where to eat dinner, decided on Mexican food, not the greatest pick however. Pictured above is Jayce’s food selection, chili pepper steak and fries of some sort.

We ended the day with a touch of sweetness from Marble Slab Creamery….

Keep It Rollin'

BJ’s truck was begging to be washed. We had been so busy with the move and getting things settled in the new house that we neglected the vehicles. Yesterday, BJ took his truck to get detailed, top to bottom, inside and out. Now, I am a tough critic and I was a bit skeptical as to how good they would get it cleaned.  But when he came home, my jaw dropped! It is amazingly clean EVERYWHERE! I was so impressed that I had to share with you.

His truck only has about 36,000 miles on it. And, it is 5 years old. But from the looks of these pictures, it looks brand new!

Check out the engine, not a speck of dirt or grime.

She looks beautiful, huh? And, yes, all vehicles are females. Everyone knows that!

Don’t hate, just appreciate!

I told you! Those guys did AMAZING detailing work, I don’t lie. Period.

The inside of the truck looks just as great as the outside. Perfectly clean and has a refreshing smell.

No dirt in even the tiniest of cracks.

BJ’s riding in the lap of luxury again!

Let’s go joy riding! I can see a road trip in my future!

WOW!

She is well taken care of…. Wouldn’t you agree?
